Key Stage 3
The KS3 Drama curriculum is designed to offer a broad and balanced curriculum which follows the structure of the three components needed to achieve well at GCSE level. These include art-form knowledge and understanding, performance and groups skills and reflective practice and evaluation.Drama as a subject actively develops students’ communication, collaboration, creativity and confidence as well as developing the whole child. Content includes:
In Year 7: Mime, Performance Poetry, Mask work, Greek Theatre & Devised Drama.
In Year 8: Comedy, Script extracts, Practitioners, Physical Theatre & Docu-Drama.
In Year 9: Commedia, Genres, Stand Up for Shakespeare & texts in practice.
