Hospitality & Catering Level 1/Level 2 Vocational Award (Spec A)

Unit 1: The Hospitality and Catering Industry

An online external assessment (90 minutes). This will focus on Hospitality & Catering Industry. Students will cover topics such as equipment and materials, stock control, Health & Safety at Work Act and food related causes of ill health.

Unit 2: Hospitality and Catering in Action

Coursework that will be complete in lessons under controlled assesment. Student’s will learn to safely prepare, cook and present nutritional dishes. Student’s will explore a range of practical skills including boiling, steaming, baking, grilling, stir-fry, roasting, poaching, weighing and measuring.

Grading

Level 1 Pass, Level 2 Pass, Level 2 Merit, Level 2 Distinction
